Building survey

The Building Survey inspection offered by this Practice is a comprehensive visual inspection of all accessible parts of a property by a qualified Chartered Building Surveyor.

The Building Survey is suitable for a wide range of commercial and residential buildings, identifying major and minor defects, as well as providing advice on the need for further inspection, where necessary.

The Building Survey is particularly suited to:

  • Listed buildings

  • Older properties

  • Buildings constructed in an unusual way, however old they are

  • Properties you plan to renovate or alter in any way

  • Properties that have had extensive alterations.

A Building Surveyincludes details of:

  • Major and minor defects and what they could mean

  • Results of damp testing on walls

  • Damage to timbers - including woodworm and rot

  • Technical information on the construction of the property and the materials used

  • The location

  • Recommendations for any further special inspections.

The Building Survey does not include a valuation, insurance re-instatement costs or information about repair costs.

Please note that our report is comparable to, but is not, the RICS Home Survey- Level 3 report format.
